I am planning on going out Saturday out of Moss Landing...it'll be a first for me. Buddy of mine suggested out in front of Pajaro, but that seems like a trek.

I might be switching to moss landing.. Not sure I wanna tow my boat on 17 and moss landing is closer than Santa Cruz if I take 101 to 129 to 1

Any chance you want to escort a newb?

No sweat. If you see a gray pedal kayak and a guy who looks lost, that'll be me!

Me and a buddy are going to go out of the coast guard launch in monterey on Monday if weather holds up. Paddle out to the red buoy and try our luck. I'll report back what we find

Looking forward to your report. I'm probably going out there next week if the weather is good and it would be great to have some fresh info.

Went out of ML today, 7-2, headed NW, staying btw 50 and 100', but no action. Steady offshore wind, and and on my own, so didn't go more than a couple miles. Next time I'll listen better and go out of Monterey!

Lots of jellyfish making everything a pain in the ass.  My friend and i got about 30 dabs between us but only 5 worth keeping. He did manage and 18" king salmon on a sabiki rig on the bottom in 210 feet of water though...  slow crab bite too. Had 1 pot poached and left open and the other with 2 big rock crabs.

Your better off going out of the coastguard pier in Monterey. Head to the red buoy and fish 170 feet or so. Much faster paddle to the fishing grounds. Moss gets deep QUICK! You have to paddle a few miles towards Pajaro dunes colony to get quality dabs. My 2 cents.. Good luck! :smt006

And this is why sand dabs should listen to sea lions!  :smt002
