Me and a buddy are going to go out of the coast guard launch in monterey on Monday if weather holds up. Paddle out to the red buoy and try our luck. I'll report back what we find

Looking forward to your report. I'm probably going out there next week if the weather is good and it would be great to have some fresh info.

Went out of ML today, 7-2, headed NW, staying btw 50 and 100', but no action. Steady offshore wind, and and on my own, so didn't go more than a couple miles. Next time I'll listen better and go out of Monterey!

Lots of jellyfish making everything a pain in the ass.  My friend and i got about 30 dabs between us but only 5 worth keeping. He did manage and 18" king salmon on a sabiki rig on the bottom in 210 feet of water though...  slow crab bite too. Had 1 pot poached and left open and the other with 2 big rock crabs.
