Here is where not to swim, let your kids swim, or let your dog swim. Seriously bad toxic stuff!

That's extremely general, and not all locations have bad algae.  Just FYI.

There is an interactive map out there that shows bodies of water and the last date tested for this algae. Knowing what it looks like is your best bet when arriving to a body of water.

The beach area at Del Valle was open this past Saturday.  If it was on this toxic algae list, why was the beach open?

Thanks,
Marko

Likely it's just that it's a lake that can get blooms...I've noticed with Chabot that they've always got the sign out warning about algae, even if it's not in bloom.

Try this ...

Look for the large orange markers. Those are positive tests from the last two weeks.

Much better.  Thank you for sharing.  The other report seems to list every area that has had algae in the past whereas this link shows the date.

Lake chabot is nearby and it’s a nice looking lake but that water is so nasty. I would use it more if it was more clear. What a shame.
