Garmin Introduces The inReach Mini

Today Garmin announced the inReach Mini, a smaller and more compact version of the inReach SE+ and Explorer+ that came out a year ago.

  • Measures just under 10cm/4 inches tall by 5cm/2 inches wide
  • Weighs 1g/3.5 ounces
  • Two-way messaging and a 24/7 SOS function when combined with an inReach subscription to access the Iridium® satellite network
  • SOS button that sends a distress signal to GEOS®, a 24/7 International Emergency Response Coordination Center
  • Optional inReach weather forecast service provides detailed updates directly to your inReach Mini or paired device; basic and premium weather packages available
  • Impact resistant (MIL-STD-810F)
  • Water-rated to IPX7
  • Internal, rechargeable lithium battery for up to 50 hours of use at the default 10-minute tracking mode and up to 20 days at the 30-minute interval extended tracking mode

The inReach Mini also works with Garmin’s popular Fēnix smartwatch line and the Earthmate app to send and receive messages.

We are thrilled to introduce the inReach Mini into our growing line of satellite communicators. You’ll never have to sacrifice space or weight in your pack; it’s small enough to stow nearly anywhere so it can be out of sight but still give you – and your loved ones at home – peace of mind that it’s there when you need it. The inReach Mini is an invaluable companion no matter where or how far off-the-grid life takes you, from trail running to traveling internationally to search and rescue efforts.
— Dan Bartel, Garmin Vice President of Global Consumer Sales

Available in Orange or Black, the inReach Mini will retail for $349.99 USD (approximately $450 Canadian) and will be ready to order in 5 to 8 weeks.
