MULLICA TOWNSHIP — A kayaker who fell into the Mullica River was rescued unhurt Tuesday morning, State Police said.
A 38-year-old man fell out of his kayak and was in water up to his neck, Trooper Alejandro Goez said.
Police were called at about 10:45 a.m. The kayaker, whose name was not available, was in the water a short time and was alert and conscious when state troopers pulled him into their boat, Goez said.
The water temperature was 43 degrees, according to tide-forecast.com.
The man was evaluated by the Galloway Township Ambulance Squad and AtlantiCare medics and released, Goez said.
The rescue took place across from Clarks Landing near Hay Road, just past Little Hog Island, Goez said.
