A RUNCORN dad has died after perishing in an industrial oven.
Alan Catterall, in his 50s, suffered fatal injuries at Pyranha Mouldings Limited, a canoe and kayak manufacturer, in Marina Village, Preston Brook, Runcorn.
Police were called to the plastics moulding company at 8.50am, last Thursday.
Production worker, Mr Catterall, who worked at the factory for 10 years, was on an early shift when the accident happened on the production line.
One of his colleagues raised the alarm.
His wife also works for the firm, but was not there when the incident occurred.
Police say they are not treating the death as suspicious.
A spokesman for the Health and Safety Executive, said:”We attended the site and are mounting a joint investigation with the police.”
Pyranah has been designing, developing, manufacturing and testing award winning whitewater kayaks in Britain since 1971.
The company supports top class boaters and expanded to become Europe’s largest canoe and kayak manufacturer.
