Feb 8 Social National Paddling Film Festival FB Folks, we're pleased as punch to announce that Erin Savage will be the 2017 NPFF Friday Night Guest Speaker. Erin is an environmental scientist and whitewater kayaker. On most weekdays and some weekends, she can be found working on clean water issues for the nonprofit, Appalachian Voices. She works with community members and citizen groups throughout Central Appalachia, helping to address pollution issues that impact rivers, streams and groundwater. On the weekends, and occasional weekdays, she can be found kayaking around the Southeast. She races regularly, preferring races that include a running or cycling portion, in addition to kayaking, so that it isn't so obvious that she's kind of slow in a kayak (not our words, we know she's as fast as a fox and as graceful as a gazelle on the water). She began kayaking 9 years ago in Uganda, and still tries to escape the United States to explore rivers internationally, as often as her bank account will allow. She recently joined the ...
