A rapid named Sieve City, in Rock Island, TN is one of the biggest runnable rapids in the world at high levels. This video was taken by Tony Lunt, my parter at Jackson Kayak the spring of 2004. The water level is 30,000 cfs, and it has never been run that high since by anyone. I am in a Wavesport Transformer, and Clay is in a Perception Java. Clay was very close to being in big trouble against the bottom wall as it is tremendously undercut and had he been pushed any further in, there was no exit without a rope and I was already way past him. (Tony had a rope to go with his camera). Two major wave holes to punch on the way down, as well as "gutters" on both sides that you really don't want to have a gutter ball! We have run this up to 15,000 cfs since, but not over. Maybe this winter?
