Class II Gets a Bad Rap

Jackson Kayak (Sep 14) - Class II gets a bad rap a lot of the time. It’s hard to find people eager to rally after-work laps on the local beginner’s stretch. Take the Powerhouse section of the Snoqualmie for instance: a half mile of the best pool-drop class II around. With a wide riverbed and relatively easy-to-make moves, the Powerhouse is one of my favorite places to bring beginners.  read more...

Smallie Paradise

Jackson Kayak (Sep 10) - I spent two days fishing in smallie paradise was the next adventure on the list I was meeting a group of friends I have not fished with or seen in a very long time. This body of water is in a remote part of Northern California. Between the surrounding mountains, trees wildlife and people I was fishing with this place has a special place in my heart. The species of fish that are contained in this body of water are small mouth, large mouth and spotted bass along with catfish, carp and trout.  read more...

Bucket List Goals

Jackson Kayak (Sep 9) - As the days get longer and spring slowly inches closer, a lot of anglers are starting to get ready for a new season of fishing. Old gear has been sold and new gear is in hand or on order. Tournament folks have been studying the schedules and locations trying to formulate plans to fish as many as they can. For me though, over the recent years, my focus has turned more from tournaments and more to my fishing bucket list.  read more...
