I got to run the lower Rauma today and it was full on, short section of 2 km. that has some amazing drops and slides!
CORE Paddles Kirri Reviews Trickling In
CORE Paddles (Sunday 10th) * - After much work and anticipation the initial reviews on the Kirri WW stuff is starting to trickle in.  We had a lot of production trouble over the past 7-8 months but the reviews I am receiving are vindication for the work we have put into the new sticks. Awesome.
Jackson Kayak North Fork Championship
Jackson Kayak (Thursday 14th) * - The North Fork Championship lived up to the hype, becoming one of the wildest whitewater kayaking events to ever happen. For those of you that haven’t heard, the North Fork Championship (NFC) is a first year event on the Payette River. A whole bunch of Ing's Bodies in bags and other surprises
A whole bunch of Ing's (Friday 15th) * - Fishing boats and huge containers of petrol. Symbols of the past and present in here in Newfoundland. From poor "have not" fishery province to rich "have" province due to the development of the oil rich banks just off our beautiful coast. Leaving Long Pond to back track and finish a swath of coastline I've been told by other paddlers it was "not a great paddle". to be honest I had reservations of "wasting" such a beautiful day on what was explained to me as a dirty "urbanesque" paddle past subdivisions and industry. None the less it laid undone as part of my ongoing journey around the peninsula.
Exploring Elements Event: Teva Mtn Games ’12 (Part 1 of 2)
Exploring Elements (Sunday 10th) * - I drove up from BV to Vail on Tuesday, after the CKS Paddle Fest and Class V Mtn Bike adventures, to have a look at Homestake Creek and help out with modifying the rodeo hole. The serious racers where all out at Homestake rallying laps trying to figure out the quick lines with the extremely low water.
