Goal Zero 10 Things I Learned While Sailing Around the World
Goal Zero - I always envisioned my trip around the world with the Wizard’s Eye would be like a college education, the ultimate test of my skills and mind against the raw power of the planet, in an environment in which I had almost no experience.
American Rivers We Are Rivers Conversations About the Rivers That Connect Us
American Rivers - My daily routine is nothing special; I wake up, turn on the tap to fill a glass of water and brush my teeth. On my way to work, I pass by Cherry Creek and the South Platte as I navigate Denver traffic. Throughout the day, I snack on fruits and vegetables to nourish my body, and as each day comes to a close, there is nothing I enjoy more than a chilled beer or glass of wine.
Goal Zero Everyday Solar for the Expedition Called Life
Goal Zero - It occurred to me that there are always epic stories here on the Solarlife blog that occur in some of the most remote places in the world.

P&H Paddlers - Paul Thomassen, an experienced Dutch sea kayaker, paddled not less than 240 kilometres to reach the Belgian West Coast. He started from Noordwijk, Netherlands, with the intention to join our team for a few days. This is the footage of a standard open sea training where he participated during his stay. It is certainly not an instruction video, but we added some tips and tricks in it.

The Paddler ezine - The Paddler magazine asked 26 world-class sea kayakers two questions, “Which is your favourite location and why?” Mark Tozer, Martin Rickard, Ollie Jay, Sean Morley, Simon Osbourne and Tara Mulvany gave us their answers…
PaddlingLight Sea kayaking trip into true wilderness - Lake Nipigon
PaddlingLight - We were out on a week-long trip into the wilderness of one of the last big untouched lakes in the Great Lakes water system, Lake Nipigon. The lake, located north of Lake Superior in western Ontario, spans approximately 65 miles long and 45 miles wide. Most kayakers in the Midwest dream of paddling in Lake Superior’s Apostle Islands, but for me, the islands of Lake Nipigon offer a true wilderness experience with more islands than I could explore in my lifetime.

Jackson Kayak Family influence led to ignite this paddler’s whitewater passion
Jackson Kayak - So, where am I going with this . . . Looking at my own life and the adventures that re-directed where my life was headed, I have witnessed “first-hand” how family can ignite passions that you never even knew you had. My father-in-law, Steve Herbeck, was the biggest factor and support in my whitewater kayaking progression. He was the one I’d follow down the river like a baby duck.
Funhog Blob A western Arctic pack raft journey

Sea Kayak Stonington Paddlers camping at Hog Island, Muscongus Bay waiting for the storm to pass
Sea Kayak Stonington - This morning, we're on Hog Island, in the northwest corner of Muscongus Bay. The landing was an easy beach landing, and an easier than most spot to pull our boats well-up past the post-new moon high tide line. We came here from Thief Island, less than an hour's paddle, but worth it to find a more sheltered spot before the storm arrived. We'd landed there after sunset the previous night after paddling around 24 nautical miles from Ram Island, in the Sheepscot River.
Trash Paddler Cape Ann's Annual Blackburn Challenge on the very tidal Jones River
Trash Paddler - Cape Ann's annual Blackburn Challenge is on my radar all year. Each year I look forward to joining some 300+ folks in challenging themselves to either paddle or row the 20-mile course around outer Cape Ann's rocky shoreline. On Blackburn eve morning I wheeled my boat down the hill, launched into the very tidal Jones River, and saw if I still remembered the route to the adjoining Annisquam River (which thankfully I did). The day was a beauty and I soon found myself admiring the A. Piatt Andrew Bridge...
Isle Surf and SUP SUP Yoga Myths
Isle Surf and SUP - Coming into my fourth year of stand up paddle board Yoga (SUP Yoga), I’ve heard it all – the fears, the hesitations and doubts people have about practicing SUP yoga. And let’s face it – most of these apprehensions are just a tiny figment of your imagination. You can do SUP yoga. You probably won’t be amazing at the start, but you will get better with practice.
