Maine Octoberfest session
« on: October 09, 2015, 12:24:18 PM »
It's October in southern Maine and the craft beer is flowing and so is the surf..we have had day after day of quality surf thanks to Joaquin and other weather systems.  It more than made up for a lousy summer.

Video here from yesterday at York Beach, Maine.  The last day of the swell  smaller but still a lot of fun and a beautiful empty day.  Having fun on my Hobie Raw

WhatSup, wearing. 3/2. Water was about 58 air 42 when I first paddled out. Warmed up a lot throughout the day.

Board Stiff. Get to Tributary Brewery in Kittery, awesome beer,  also  Earth Eagle Portsmouth and SOME Brewery in York. So many good breweries around these parts.  York River landing a great spot too..its on my route when flat water paddling the York River..

Someone I haven't been to Tributary yet,  though I've been to the others.  I'm planning to get over there for their next Mott the Lesser release in a couple weeks.  YRL is a great place to finish a York River paddle for sure!

NICE! I could kinda tell you're goofy foot in ther beginning and the final feet shot gave it away. You surf really good! What's the dims on that RAW?
One could go into a mall in Kansas and ask a teenager "What is a surfer looking for?, and the answer will always be, "The perfect wave"

Hey SurferCook The deck pad is covering the specs, but I want to say this Hobie Raw is 8'10" X 28" x 3 1/2" and  118 liters.  It's the older Raw from 2012.  It's an incredibly fast board and seems to be bomb proof.  I know the more recent Raws are wider and more fragile.

Stoney, We should be up here through Thanksgiving. If you want to come up just let me know.  I'd love to see you up here.
