My last post was deleted without notice.. Not cool but I get how people can get their panties in a bunch over sensitive subjects, my apologies I had no idea... We are all here for the same reason.. If someone would like help directing people into buying Stickers, Shirts, Sweatshirts, etc NCKA related that would be great.. I know that there are a few of us on here that are interested in buying such things... I spent some time designing that stuff for some body to take it down.. Not that cool.

So WHERE can someone find a sticker that won't fall off a car, peel off a kayak or better yet a shirt? Please direct me I would be glad to purchase a few, not to mention put my money in a good direction. Thank you.

As for the people that asked if they would like help with designs for their events, for a buff idea, etc. Please let me know I would be happy to do the work for free and for a good cause, BEING A GOOD HUMAN, LIVING THE STOKE.. Hence my whole original post in the first place.

lol, you seem to be the only one with your panties in a bunch bud.

Youve only been here a month, there's  alot of background you probably don't know and  I'm only posting it cause every six months or so a new guy comes in to tell us how much we suck.

The ling head logo originated from a sketch drawing done by one of the og members.  When SJBill was looking for logo designs, og member volunteered it up and someone created the vector file with the text and paddle/rod.  It was never meant to be a production logo, it's something that got slapped together by members.

Side note: another member, a newb to the board like yourself, also came up with a nice logo that everyone liked......until she started talking copyrights and legalites.  Being a small board at the time nobody wants to deal with crap like that so her design was scrapped and she later got herself banned for  being a kook.

Back to the ling design, it was cool and works in print but it makes the die cutting process tedious, laborious and expensive. Bill had his first run of stickers printed on a 4x4 vinyl, so when brother mooch decided to take on the swag project we went with the same style.

I found a printer that was able to get us the 4x4 ling heads on vinyl with a uv  coat and I paid for and handed them over to mooch.  He was able to get them out to people up until his chemo became too much for him.  So hojo stepped in to distribute them.  I've never heard of any complaints about this batch and apparently triangle laguna is still hoping to find them.

When hojo ran out he contacted me to see if I could get another run of them.  I went to the same shop, had them pull my order and duplicate it.....everything was the exact same and looked the same when I picked them up. In hindsight I should have pulled out my crystal ball to see how they would fare getting baked in the sun, blasted by sand and water....even after the first batch was fine.  But you know how that goes, maybe we got a mixed run and a portion of the material sheets were bad cause I've only heard isolated reports of them coming off.  Or may the whole batch sucked and some people understand its a fucking two dollar sticker and don't base their happiness in life on the success or failure of a piece of gluey plastic with ink on it.

By the way triangle, it's apparent I ruined your life with paper and goo.  I'm personally gonna refund your two bucks to restore the balance to your world. I do tnink your shots at either myself, hojo or bushy (who wasnt even involved but reluctantly stepped in) were a little uncalled for.  While I can be a dick, bushy and hojo are good joes.  I dont thonk i redponded to you at all but i hope you accept my sincerest apologies.  Send me a link to your paypal and I'll drop that coin on you asap.

I'm also gonna pay hojo off for the remainder of the unsold stickers,  he fronted that run and we can ceremoniously burn them in a voodoo ritual to rid future ncka swag of dubious juju.

I'll also front another c-note to help fund a new batch for whoever volunteers to take on this fucked up job.  I can't imagine hojo wants anything to do with it after the nonsense it generates.....hojo let me know if I'm wrong.

Anybody else who feels wronged please contact me and I'll let you all line up to kick me in the nuts.....that or I'll drop a beer on you when we meet.

Weimarian, you don't get to kick me cause I didn't have anything to do with those ovals, thank goodness....but apparently they suck too.

PS....I looked into die cuts because some people wanted an 18x18" window sticker.  Several business told me they weren't interested cause the design is so intricate that the weeding process was gonna be a pain in the ass.  Those that did quote me estimated 80-100 and it had to be a prepay.....there weren't as many requests for them after hearing the price. I can't imagine that a intricate pattern on a smaller scale is gonna be cost effective.

Then again ripnlips, you're an industry pro so you probably know know more about the production than a normal shlub like myself.  Contact your people for quotes cause I want a small die cut ling head like I posted in your original thread.

Wow, I musta missed something.  The looking heads are bomb, I rock them on my trucks.   All stickers eventually fail.  That's why sticker companies stay in business....

BTW, I would totally buy a big ling head sticker or two.  Hojo does a great job with the merch.

I don't know how to respond, it was an idea and a post on what someone thought about it, not exactly a "hey this shit sucks and I'm going to change it" deal... Just something that was posted for discussion... Didn't mean to burn bridges or start all this drama.. I'll look elsewhere with a t shirt or sticker idea...

My names Austin I look forward towards meeting you,new to the forum yes, but definitely not kayak fishing or fishing any of the Northern California coastline for that matter, 25+ years I've had a line in these waters... Just someone with an idea that got shot down like a plague, thanks for the history I now understand the sensitivity...

I'm glad you're choosing not to kick me in the nuts....I owe you a beer.

The logo does need to be redesigned for die cuts .  All the detail in the head make it a headache.  We need a graphic designer to work on it or come up with something completely different so everyone can get their die cut stickers on industrial vinyl at a reasonable cost.

Art,that was gd funny bro. Yes the big transfers are expensive. Not to mention the weeding ,laying it out and pulling the paper was tedious too. I have a copy of the vector file. I think Barber sign company in Petaluma still does too. That's who made Adams and mine. I love all the detail.

I really have no idea what you guys are talking about but I'm really pumped about the idea of a RoShamBo with an Ex-Kayaker for a sticker. I go first? Don't mind if I do :smt007 :spank

Ok,
I'm up for kicking someone in the nuts, but you would not be the first in line ;0)
I'd rather buy you a beer, and offer you a room at the tides to relax. Hit me up, I've got you covered ;0)
As for some of the new guys,
Please do your homework before you jump. Many things have occurred over the years and you don't know the toes you may be stepping on.
We definitely appreciate your input, but be cautious in unknown teritory
