I couldn't find this topic anywhere but I was wondering if anyone had any kind of "behind the scenes" feedback on why it seems like less and less poles are being fitted with cork on their handles. I just seem to prefer the poles that have the full cork handle/butt rather than the foam or the handles that only have  something on the very end of the butt. I have really understood why they have been gravitating towards this production "style". I would automatically assume it would cost less to do the foam with the sectional handle but maybe there is a better explanation. I have been holding off on getting a few rods because they have this partial handle/foam set up and im kinda bummed honestly.

damnit...
I know that there are companies that still use them but im not ready to shell out hundreds of dollars for a rod, I seem to put mine through
pretty rigorous wear and tear. I cant do it yet. I want to...but I cant lol

I'm trying out the Daiwa rods for salmon this year full cork. from Broadway Bait Tackle.. I like how light that thing is! as light as the lamiglass xcel I have with split cork handle.

Feel the same for the most part.  Love the Lamiglas rods that I own, all cork handles.  But also love my Trevala's, though.

It seems to me like the quality of cork is slipping a little, too. The cork on my newish Lamiglass Classic Glass is already looking a little thrashed from my rod holder...

Might add some of that heat shrink rubber grip to it to prolong the life a bit.
