Just wondering how many people fish the rivers hard for salmon. I wouldnt imagine ppl fishing the sac as much but then again who knows. Anyone ever dragged a weight device behind them to drift roe or backtroll from a yak? Always have wondered that...

Hit up my boy Ricci "Fishworks" Chavez...also known as "Mudsalmon." He's a river salmon slayer and a damn good fisherman

That was a fish n cleanup/fish n chill. I hosted that one, and Headwaters donated malone wheels and a few other prizes for people who picked up the most trash. Rider won.

Fishworks has organized a few great AR FnC's.  I'm down to organize one this year unless some else is chomping at the bit.

I was just at Howe last week and only saw one salmon roll. Heard a couple had been caught at Nimbus already.
So long and thanks for all the fish!!!

I saw one of your pics has a car only a few feet away from the launch? Must be nice. Last two places I went to was a bit of a struggle for me. Bear River reservoir and Sutter's landing. I didn't even try launching at Rattlesnake bar. My bad though. Outta shape but my Santa Cruz Raptor with the cart made it at least doable.

The only difficulty in launching at the AR is that you first gotta chase the kids/bbqing adults/ pets/ bums/ easy-ups off of the launch ramp.  Once you can back down it's cake.

Sac County Parks annual parking pass is good throughout the entire parkway, and costs $50 at REI. Day parking is $8 as I recall.

Wasn't that done by you rolling down the windows and opening the back hatch of the Ford to let the nice aged squid smell loft into the air clearing the area?  :smt044

•Vehicle and small watercraft: $80

Small watercraft portion is needed for the kayaks if you are checked by Sac County rangers.

I have the State and County annual park passes already. It's more than worth it. I just want  to try  out new places that gets mentioned here that I've never yet tried. Launching at the AR at certain launches  would need transport to get back though. But you're right, it's a lot easier when there is a boat/kayak launch available. Except for some lakes, the ramp is still a helluva way from the water.

Yeah, but that doesn't work now that I am a responsible adult with a car that has only a slight odeur de putrescence. My current strategy is to walk up to the biggest thug associated with the kids, and kindly ask him to look out for the kids as I back my car down the ramp.  So far 100% friendly and compliant responses.

Uh, yeah, every September on the Klamath. Fish that are only a couple of miles out of the ocean.
If you don't know where you're headed, any road could get you there.
