Bring the kids: The Tarpon Springs Cultural Center, 101 S Pinellas Ave., Tarpon Springs, will host a production of The Sleeping Beauty, by playwright Charlotte B. Grab your tickets: Season tickets are on sale for Live Oak Theatre's 2015-16 performances, which will include a musical adaptation of Around the World in 80 Days, October 9-10 and 16-17; a Christmas celebration in December, and the musical The Secret Garden, April 29-30 and May 6-7. Friday shows will start at 7:30 p.m., and Saturday shows will start at 2:30 and 7:30 p.m. Each show includes dessert. Art events

Quilted art: Pasco-Hernando State College's Rao Musunuru M.D. Art Gallery in the Alric Pottberg Library on the West Campus, 10230 Ridge Road, New Port Richey, will display works by members of the West Pasco Quilters' Guild in an exhibit called "Quilting Pasco" through Aug. 5. Art on display: An art exhibit called "I Am New Port Richey" will be on display during August in the Susan Dillinger Art Gallery at New Port Richey City Hall, 5919 Main St. There will be a reception at 6:30 p.m. Aug. 18. Musically inclined

A concert for kids: The Early Learning Coalition of Pasco and Hernando Counties will host its third annual Preschool Palooza, a free children's concert, from 3-5 p.m. Aug. 8 at Heritage Academy, 35636 State Road 54, Zephyrhills. Storyteller and musician Tommy Girvin, also known as Mr. Tommy, will perform. Girvin was Eddie Money's lead guitarist for more than 25 years. Other fun

Sinking ships: Four teams at a time will try to sink each other's "ships" during an event called Canoe Battleship from 5:30-8:30 p.m. Saturday at the Recreation and Aquatic Center, 6630 Van Buren St., New Port Richey. Each canoe will be equipped with two buckets, one shield and one cup so the team atop it can maneuver its vessel and attempt to sink the other. The team in the last canoe to remain upright will win.
