WTG Brandi, Eric, and all of the other volunteers, kids and parents!  So fun to see all of the kids on stage with their works of art...Seems they get better every year!  Lots of happy campers!  :smt003

Every year it seems to just get better and better….

I first need to acknowledge Eric/LoletaEric.  He provides me unconditional support for this event to compliment his GS tournaments and I greatly appreciate it! THANK YOU Eric!!

I had a fantastic volunteer Team Gyotaku who deserves great accolades as without them this event would not happen.  I literally can not do it without their invaluable help.  THANK YOU Christine, Sally, Linda, Sarah, Hailie, Hannah, Lauren, Shannon, Emma, LaWana (sp) and Carson!!!  Please let me know if I forgot anyone 

And of course the event doesn’t really happen without all of you participating.  THANK YOU for coming to the event!!  I was stoked that there was such a tremendous response with an abundance of all ages! In addition to the GS tourney participants, it was great to see the parents engaged with their children at the event.  I believe our youngest fish printer was 3 years old. Creative and colorful fish prints were made on paper, shirts and dish towels with rockfish, lingcod, sand dabs, mackerel, sardine, baby octopus and even a crab.   I attempted a new component this year, an event tent with hopes we could curtail both the sun and wind.  Well, the wind prevailed, but we did succeed with blocking the sun for at least three picnic tables. Next year we will set up more tables even if they are in the sun for this year the tables we had set up were maxed with people waiting.  Again, great turnout. This year we honored the youth participation, each receiving a $20 prize for showcasing their creative gyotaku shirts at the potluck. It wasn’t until they were all up on the stage did I realize how many kids did participate!! AWESOME!!

My final shout out goes to Jack, owner of the Shelter Cove Campground.  THANK YOU Jack!! Every year he has been extremely accommodating for this event even to the point where he checks in with me several times to make sure my needs for the event are being met.  Very cool stuff.

If you missed it this year, join us next year at the 5th Annual Gyotaku Extravaganza!!

I'm late chiming in here due to not having my normal computer access.

Brandi and her volunteers did an amazing job on the Gyotaku this year - I was thrilled to see the level of participation from families and kids especially.  To award every kid a cash prize for participating was one of the highlights of the event for me.  I can't promise that every year, but the spirit of my intent is to encourage more growth in the activity and involvement from families and kids.

Way to go, Brandi Easter - you really hit it out of the park.   :smt008

Those are real fish right? What a nice piece of art! Wow, this is how you can preserve the beauty of your catch besides the camera. Cool! Whoever started this one, kudos my brother.
