nice hand line reels. I'm interested in what type of wood it is as well?

regarding the wood sealing:
The wood reels can be made to last lifetimes if put into a vacuum bag with some epoxy for a while. It's like those fast meat marinate machines. They do this with wood to basically give the wood plastic like properties. Sucks out the air in the pores of the wood and replaces it with epoxy.

I would keep them away from oils (even hands) and moisture (if they arent sealed) to avoid warping them.
Coming from a humid place to a dryer place will require the wood to acclimate to our mainland humidity.

They look nice, hope you get some with them!

Most woods tend to prefer moist over dry.   Depending on the moisture levels in the wood & wood type, it may change a bit (warp, crack, run away) in our weather.  You're not certified to handle that kind of wood Glenn, I'll have to take them off your hands.

When are we going to try it out pare ko?  HMB next week?
