Yeh I had a demo in 2 ft beaches, found I needed to be really strong just to get the board off the car and down to the break, it's very heavy, which is good for going through whitewater cause nothing will stop it, I found the stepped rails a little unusual as it seemed to sort of slip in the transition. I really wanted to like the board as it looks pretty nice but it wasn't for me, but you can nose ride ok, hard to do anything but a slow turn,
TC makes it look easy to ride but the weight made it difficult for me, I'm still looking for my ideal board..

Cheers mate. I'm looking at these because the new Laird boards seem to have some issues with durability. Bit hard for me to demo one as there is none in my area. Might have a look at some of the Sunova boards.

I have spent a fair bit of time on this board (3 straight days at the Merimbula classic) and really loved its down the line speed and drivey turns.
It picks up anything - to a point that it feels like you have an unfair advantage. These boards have a different feel, with the chined rails and thin nose. The chines improve the glide and rail to rail transition. They nose ride like no other and you can snap a turn if you get you foot back on the tail pad. It is a board I pull out for smaller more crowded days. I haven't surfed it in over 4' yet but the board feels like it would handle some size as well. The weight is not an issue on a wave, it just adds to the drive, speed and stability of this board.
If weight is you thing check out the Sunova Styles. We specialise in performance longboards.
If you are in Sydney check out our demo fleet and go for a paddle

nice report..I'm just hanging out for some TC Demo's on the GC. Have $ waiting to spend…seems the perfect board for a good solid 2ft Burleigh Peeler.

AA can you please share some light about glide, turning ability and built quality regarding the Naish Nalu 10'6 vs JP Allround 10'6. Thanks.

Thanks for the reviews Ockanui and AA. The board sounds good. A bit of weight in a longboard is a good thing. I might have to head up to Sydney to try one out though.

Hey Chris, the manager of Balmoral, Sam Watts has spent a bit of time on both these boards. Two excellent all round boards in this category. The general feedback is that these boards are almost identical.
Sam is the guru on all these performance longboard style boards as it is his specialty.
It is best to call him though, you could write pages about the subtle differences between all these boards. 02 9905 8826
