Hey there,

my name is Sebastian, I live in Peninsula. Bought kayak year ago (tandem SOT), rigged for fishing, took it dozen of times to the bay, HMB (no open water yet) and couple of rivers, planning to try open water this year.

If there is any obvious choice where to take my 11-year old girl fishing would appreciate advice.

Great forum, already found lots of great info!

Cheers,

Welcome!  Hmmm, 11yr old....  surf perch at a local beach?

There are a bunch of nice lakes within a relatively short driving distance:  San Pablo Reservoir, Shadow Cliffs, Lake Berryessa, etc.

The trout farm in South Tahoe is really fun for kids too because the trout are big.  There's another trout farm up near Bodega Bay that's also good.  "Troutmere" in La Honda is more for really young kids...

Oooow, I know... keep your eyes open for the Salmon Charter on Travelzoo(?).  $49 for a trip out of Monterey.
