Over the past year I have been finding lost gear diving.  Spearguns, weights, ab bars and ab gages.  I post and look through the lost and found pages and try to give stuff back when I can.  The last two dives I found a bunch of small weights in areas where a lot of shore fishing goes on.  I have lost my share but pretty sure I found more than I have lost.  It's like treasure hunting.

I kept a duplicate of each item for when I lose something again or if someone comes out and forgets something they can borrow them.  I need to read up on lead melting and figure out best how to repurpose it into new weights or jigs.

All the extras are going to Matt at Red Triangle Spearfishing.  I also have some used gear I am donating.  Hopefully others will donate and can help to outfit newer divers or divers who could use reduced prices to get into the sport and upgrade slowly as their budgets allow.

Imagine what it'd be like if you went scuba diving in the salmon grounds during off season...you'd probably have enough salmon weights to last you a couple years :smt002. Would be a good way to clean up the seabed too.

I was thinking about that.  Not sure if 2 lb balls sink in the sand or would they be visible.  Get set up with a sea urchin boat and hooka gear and you could stay down for awhile.

I've found some over the years, but nothing to the degree you have there!

One way to re-use the weights is to trade them for dive weights; get ahold of IceColdChuck (I think he still trades). He makes the wedge style dive weights. If you decide on selling any of the irons, I will take the 3rd aluminum one form the bottom left. Also, we will be at Albion for 5 days, starting the Wednesday after Easter, if you need someone to bring the gear down for Matt.

Does the ab gauge on the very left have a phone number on it?
I lost one at TC this year that I've had for 30 years.  :smt010

Only dove TC once and didn't find anything.  If someone puts their number on their gear I will make every effort to return it.

I could use a iron and gauge if not claimed.
Novice trying to get some gear together.
