After one spill where my net leash looped over the back of my PFD I'm losing all the leashes except the paddle leash and am wondering what the floats are that people are putting on their rods and where you're getting them

pipe insulation w a wrap of bright ducktape would work but it would be nice if it was removable for the rinse down

I too plan on putting a pool noodle on my rig..  The awfully, ugly bright colored foam would hinder the purpose of having a nice detailed rod and reel. But I would hate to loose it.  Kinda like telling my wife not to dress too sexy when she goes out.. :smt003

All jokes aside. Having a leash on the rod does interferes a bit.

Pool noodles are awesome ...for my net I took the butt end cap off and filled it with that expanding foam ... Works great

Leash it, Noodle it or Loose it ... really only 3 options.  Maybe the option 4- floating rods.

I can tell Tote must have great fish filleting skills by the way he handled that noodle. :smt044

I don't know, that beer sat untouched for close to a minute  :smt002
I like the spiral idea for the cut, wish I was smart enough to think of that before I did mine. No tape needed

Fishing rod blanks are hollow. I wonder if this would work with them too?? I think it's worth trying out.

What or who is a Baidarka? Sounds more dignified than pool noodle. Where does one shop for pool noodles btw?

Man Tote I haven't drank beer from a can since I was like 14 years old

Okuma brand, Baidarka model was a nice floating kayak specific rod that had some breakage issues

Can you elaborate? I have a baidarka as well and not sure if its salmon worthy.
