Outrigger Canoe Capsizes Near Crissy Field

An outrigger canoe capsized between the U.S. Coast Guard Golden Gate Station and Crissy Field just before 11:30 a.m. Sunday.

The six passengers on the boat were in the water for about 20 minutes before they were rescued by the Coast Guard. A Coast Guard motor life boat crew then brought all six passengers to the Coast Guard’s Golden Gate Station for evaluation by emergency crews.

Coast Guard Ensign Jake Urrutia told NBC Bay Area that he is not aware of any injuries from the incident or why the outrigger capsized.
