Cruise Angler 12 vs. Cuda 14'

Post by Bradw693 »

Found a place online selling 2013 Jackson cuda 14' for 995 and 2014 cruise 12' for 806. I really want the cuda 12' but they are sold out. I'm leaning towards the cruise 12' because at the moment, I live in an apartment and can only manage the 12' on my small padio. I will upgrade to a 14' once I buy a house and have a roomy garage.

Has anyone ever owned a cruise 12' or currently own one? If so what our your pros and cons..and overall review of the boat?

Anything advice helps, I'm looking to purchase within the next week or so.

Also, the Cruise is in the yellowish/sun color...will that have any negative effect on fishing the marsh/bay?

found a 2014 cuda 12' in urban camo for 1274 that comes rudder ready. Will come out to 1379 after taxes. I really want this kayak but not sure if I'm ready to spend that much. I guess I just need to make the investment because I plan to use it for the next 5 years or so.

ive owned both at the same time and still have the cruise. That cruise angler edition is a perfect mix of the coosa and cuda models. It isn't a speed demon but plenty stable and has a big front hatch for storing camping gear. thats why my wife has it and it's main use is river camping trips. i've paddled it in FW but not the salt so no help there. The cruise is definitely a great river and small water yak for sure.

I bought a 2014 Cuda 14 from FTU last week. It was $1288 drive out. They are limited on color choice. That is the lowest I found for a new one. Jackson will allow a max discount of 15% for the 2014.

I was looking for a cuda 14 for a while and started stalking the for sale here on TKF and it didn't take long to find an awesome kayak for an awesome price. While you're still debating I would keep checking out what's for sale on TKF great prices from great people
