I can totally see that workig well....sometimes

Say I sailing downwind in my AI wouldn't the jib cause the AI to dig the bow in even more.
I wonder if an AI can do an endo?
Where did he go george

Jibs are most useful going upwind. Spinnakers going downwind. The AI design limits the benefit of a jib because of the bow submerging in heavy wind however in light wind, a jib would be useful. It adds complexity to a tacking maneuver though and additional rigging time so it's a trade off. One of the nice thing about the AI is that it is one of the easiest boats to sail. It's not a performance sailboat though so if you want to get more speed, I would buy the 2015 model AI or a real sail boat. The new design will probably out sail the old design even if you add a jib, haka boards and an extension tiller.
