BEACH BON FIRE SAT. NIGHT!

When: After Potluck and Awards Ceremony

Let's celebrate the Day's Winners and end the day in a classic NCKA Fashion.  :smt041 Fill free to bring out your favorite musical instruments, lawn chairs, and Smore sticks.  :smt007 Cause I like lighting things on fire,  :smt002 :smt044 I'll be organizing and settings up the Bon Fire on the beach after the awards. Any extra helping hands would be appreciated.

As of now, we our in need of some wood. If we can get folks to donate some logs to the fire that would be Awesome. Not your personal wood for own site, just some extra so we can make this happen. So who's down and can donate some extra Logs?

Some of the wood also has chunks of "pure" creosote" that is like NAPALM!  I usually break off chunks of that to use to start the fires.  Burns almost white hot!  I'll bring wood that doesn't have this on it, but some "fun chunks" to get it started with.

I'll bring as much digger pine as will fit in the truck, it burns nice and tall... :smt044
Remember to practice safe knots, because big fish don't just break your line, they also break your heart.

I'll bring some WELL seasoned wood too!  Just have to get to it.  We fell 11 TALL pines right on top of all my dried, split firewood for the season.  :smt009

I think of it as "digger pine" as well but FYI it is a throwback that needs to go away.
It has widely been named digger pine due to its wide use by Native American tribes collectively and colloquially referred to as "diggers." However, that term has fallen into disgrace.  "many Native Americans find the term digger offensive....
so it's gotta go like the "n-word"
But let us burn some, yes

Is there any problems burning pallets on the beach? I tried to do that years ago at Pismo Beach and it wasn't allowed. I guess they didn't want the nails that are left behind after they are burned.

I will be bringing some wood in my trailer, I can get some pallets as well.
