SUPWA is stoked to open registrations for our annual Bridge the Bank race to be held on Sunday morning October 26 on the banks of the beautiful Swan River.
The Bridge to Bank is our annual community event aimed at all paddlers who desire to give racing a go in a fun environment.
Don't have a race board? That's ok, as we have made it a 'handicap event' that will be determined by the combined board lengths and completion times.
This gives everyone a chance of winning, no matter what size board you choose to use collectively.
The Bridge to Bank is a fun mixed pair's race with the men starting at Narrows Bridge and paddling the 8km to Pt Walter. From there, you tag your female paddling partner, who then paddles the 5km last leg of the race to Stirling Bridge for the finish.
The course can be reversed if needed, depending on the wind direction on the morning.
At the completion of the race, we are having presentations and pizza at Salt, on Port Beach. Bring your family & friends along.
If you don't have a have a sup partner, that's ok, please let us know & we will match you up.
Registration: Bib number and briefing at 0800 sharp (even if you entered online you need to attend this breifing to get your number). Meet your partner at the Narrows for the briefing then they can drive to Pt Walter Spit for the next leg.
Division: Mixed division only
DATE 26-10-2014 TIME 08:00 - 12:00

Entries are starting to roll in for the Bridge the Bank, it's a great fun event.
If you want to enter but don't have a partner, PM me and I will try to pair you up with a paddler.

Great opportunity for single men & single lady paddlers to be paired for the race.
Could be the start of something called paddling

Conditions are looking like we will have a breeze at our back with the Fremantle leg starting first. Confirmation of course direction closer to the event.
Get those entries in, will be a good day of paddling.

Hi Adam
I just checked, you need to enter via the gateway above. For everyone, partners need to enter, you can't just put down a partner name on ur entry, the system needs all entrants to enter. Thanks

Spewing that I am going to miss this event, it has got to be one of the funnest events to do. Might just have to come down and socialise with everyone at the end.

Just saw that 10 teams are entered so far. Conditions are looking good - not too windy and race director Luke Jenkins will pick the best direction on the day for an easy paddle.
Don't need a race board, really good fun - get your sister, your wife, your girlfriend into SUP for the day!

Hi Goochi. Are team names available? I needed to be partnered up so not sure if that is sorted yet?
Want to think about logistics of boards and cars etc.

Hi guys. Wondering if it it would be a good event for a first time flat water attempt. Keen to try a race board if I could get my hands on one too!

Absolutely, the perfect event for first timer. Easy conditions and lots of support. Although it is billed as a race it is really all about participation - 4km is a good distance for a first timer and your partner can paddler alongside you. Plenty of male partners still available too ladies!

Don't suppose anyone would have a race board handy I could have a go on for the event. Happy to pay if that's what's required

Hey mate contact Drew at WAsurf, they are co-sponsoring the event and have offered some boards for use if needed.
