So when not surfing or fishing I have been helping my buddy Jerry rebuild this old mustang from frame up...new wiring harness hand built 1 wire at a time ...new stronger frame pieces new brake system , exhaust ,trany , 550HP ford crate powerhouse ...runs like a dream and now we start tearing it apart so he can finish body and prime the frame and undercoat ... and then we can put it all back together... Today we are pulling out engine and trany brakes and exhaust.... basically tearing all apart so we can put it back together for a final time.....many many hours in and many more before we are finished.

That does like look like the Mustang I drove around in HS. Be safe that is a heck of a lot of engine for that frame and body. Have fun!

Awesome. My dad has a '66 rust red convertible he bought off the showroom floor when he was in the navy in need of a restore. One day.

That is a full fledged build right there. You guys should run that with the Shelby club at their track days.  I am building a 65 fastback vintage race car currently and plan to run with them.

My Dad  owned and turned wrenches on a 70 fastback he used to race Short track back in the late 1970's and early 1980's. He ran Limited sportsman back in the day, only Ford in a field of Chevy's.  He had a good driver and we did well in the points.  In the last year of that division we actually won a race.  You would of thought we won the Daytona 500.  Ford fans came out of the woodwork, it was a special night as a Ford had not won in that division in over 20 years.

I had a 69 Rustang, every floor pan needed to be replaced.  Good to see old stangs being done right.  I saw some kid stuff a set of oversized krunked tired on a stang, I just thought to myself there is someone who should be shot.

I had a 68 California Special. I was going to rebuild the thing when I got so sick I had to sell it. That car is now in Europe. Never thought I would get well enough to work on that car. But things happen for a reason I have been told.

In 1970 my friend drove us in his Boss 302 from the LA area to Brawley to go dove hunting.  The engine was fairly loud and rough until he got up to around 80 mph when everything smoothed out so that is the speed he drove at.  Didn't see many doves to shoot at. On the way home at around 10 pm near Indio his timing chain broke and the engine self destructed.  Luckily he had relatives who lived in Indio who we could spend the night with.
The warranty on the engine was for 12 months/12 thousand miles.  He had the car for 11 months and had 12250 miles on it when it died.  Ford wouldn't budge on the Warranty and he had to pay for a new engine.   Nice car though.
"Pedo Viejo" is what Antonio called me.
