Airport Rd.-Rockport/Fulton

Post by Plastic paddler »

Went to the Kayak Launch last week, no kayak this time, I thought that I heard there was a small Park there. I saw some trees and picknick tables in a fenced in area with a for sale sign on that property next to the small Parking area and turnaround. Was this Airport Park at one time?

It is directly behind the airport. There should be a sign that now says Murph park. There are about 3 picnic tables and a port-a-can. Culvert just next to it that runs under the road used to house a gator but I think he has moved to Tombo's House :D

Actually there are TWO sites, both Aransas Pathways sites (see above link). Airport Road site is at the end of Airport Rd after it crosses Loop 1781. The Howard Murph County Park site (use to be named Airport Park) is about 1 mile North of Airport road on Loop 1781. The Howard Murph County Park has a portta potty and picnic tables. The Airport Road site is a parking area with a nice path to the shore. At this site the neighbor to the South has put a gate in his fence at the parking area (we need respect his access).
good luck,
