Noise reduction
Where is the best place to get some of the adhesive backed rubber matting? I would like some to put in various areas on the yak but I am looking for something a little wider than 7" which is about all I have been able to find around town.

Re: Noise reduction
Depends on what type of kayak you have but SeaDek makes some padding for kayaks.

Or you can just order the sheets and cut them yourself

Seadek is great! I just put it on my PA! You prob can't see it as it's Camo pattern!!!!!
Nice on bare feet also!

By the way.....this pic was taken just after I laid it out to check spacing and before I stuck it on. It was real easy. $101 shipped through ACK with my 15% TKF discount.

Re: Noise reduction
Mike, I would say you have it covered!
I will look into this stuff. It's allot better priced than the Harmony rubber pads.

I have about 72''x30" of aqua turf in yellow camo with 3m adhesive backing, it works great for sound deadening and grip. It's almost identical to seadek just cheaper priced. You can have it for $40, I think I paid $60+ for it and only used 2 feet for a cooler top. Pm me for details.

Hey Nsea, you still have that piece available?

You can always go the cheap route and use those non skid mats, the kind people use in dish and utensil drawers... Just cut them and glue them down. Nice thing about them is that its cheap. 4$ for about 4' x 2' piece. I put them where I place my paddle down while I'm fishing so it doesn't bang around. Also around the floor of the yak so it adds extra traction. Its also waterproof.

That's what I did, was @ Cadillac and the porters pulled a neat mat out of an Escalade. I took it home, made some patterns and voila!! another $100 I can add to the fishfinder fund.
I'll get a better pic when finished, it has a nonslip type surface which I also found nice.
