CLEVELAND — The kayaker reported missing in Lake Erie Tuesday has been found safe.
According to the U.S. Coast Guard, a call came in just after 7 p.m. that a person fell off the kayak and was seen swimming to the rocks; it wasn’t known if that person made it to the rocks.
But, the Coast Guard says the kayaker called to report he returned safely.
The original search included a helicopter out looking just west of Edgewater between Perkins Beach and Edgewater Beach. Cleveland and Lakewood police also assisted on the scene.
