Finally was able to make substantial headway on my roofing this weekend!
I got almost all the fascia boards replaced, (Still one length at back to look at to see if it needs replacing) new vented skylights installed and waterproof membranes laid down on them, pulled small skylight, replaced old rigid foam insulation with new, then covered with new roof deck (All new roof deck panels are covered with Thompsons water seal)
Got the area in front of my chimney covered with new rigid foam and new roof deck, and started to replace the old deteriorating rigid foam sheets from below roof deck. Last week, the amount of drizzle we had was enough to leak into house, even though I had put plastic down, (Apparently not well enough) so after a day of sunshine and hot temps on roof, I got busy with all the above.
I have 6 more new rigid foam panels to put down on the roof, (Re-use the old decking, most pieces are still good, I'll replace what's not) put my drip edging on, build a small "Cricket" or Saddle for my chimney then, lay some roofing felt!
Work travel has slowed this project, (And a few honey-do's) however I'm happy with this weekends progress!
Oh just ordered 2 flexible corner flashing pieces for my chimney, so I won't have any break's in the corner flashing at the "Cricket"

Got 3 more old ridgig foam panels replaced this morning and closed up 2 of the  3 slots closed and sealed the seams between the deck boards with "Window tape"
Also, made a "Cricket" for my chimney.  That thing kicked my ass! I was stressing heavily about all the angles,  short boards with weird angles to match both roof slope and be lelel, took a few cuts 2x4 frame, some more trimming, a few more cuts, a little marking and more trimming.  But I got the little bastard built and screwed down to the deck! Picture to follow.

Got the corner covered with roof felt Monday after work!  This weekend I plan to cover the remaining roof, and hopefully get some shingles down!  Sucks when the sun is on the roof though, it's really hot!  I'm excited to be at this point finally!
I can then move the plastic to the back half and start that when I finish shingling the front!

A little more accomplished!  The chimney earthquake braces were simply lag bolted into the toung & groove boards and not all the lag bolts were sufficiently into the boards to begin with!  I solved this by adding new 2X6 under the deck for each bracket.
Replaced the last section of bad fascia boards and got the proper drip edges put down (There were no drip edges other than the edges of the old shingles)
Got roofing felt down, and close to 2/3's roof covered with one roll?  Cutting the felt around the skylights was PITA, but I'm almost past them!  After I'm above them completely, covering the rest of the roof will go quickly!
Sunday morning, sprinkles started over my roof!  Had to get out of bed early, cover the roof, and as I finished covering, the sprinkles stopped! (Of course!) I waited for the sun to rise before I continued.

Finally got the roof covered with felt after work last night!  Except for one little strip about 8" wide at the peak of the roof covered with the white tarp.  I need to strip off the cap shingles (All 3 layers of them) but might need to wait on them. Today after work I'm planning (Wife's plan may differ some) to move some starter course shingles up and get a row laid down from the chimney to the edge (Front of the house.  Have to put drip edge on edge up the roof to the top before the starter course goes up roof.  Cutting the felt around the skylights was a PITA, there is probably an easier way to accomplish this than what I did, but its done.  Everything layers onto previous layer so water should shed properly!
My next concern is proper way to cover the "Cricket" with 3 tab shingles.  I've seen a "Weave" method, and simple straight lay-over method.  I'm leaning to the "Weave" as it appears it'll cover the "Cricket" better.
All those little "bubbles" in the felt weren't there yesterday when I rolled the felt out and anchored with staples.  I made sure to pull the paper tight, then staple.  Started at one side and worked my way across making sure bubbles were not present, they still showed up though? Flaw in the paper? don't know. Not a professional roof.  Not going to stop me laying new shingle down!

Yesterday I was able to lay some starter shingleg along eve and up rake, then I got 6 courses  of my 3 tab shingles put down on the right side of the chimeny all the way up to the cricket.  Because I'm not immortal anymore the 65 lb shingle bundles are not that easy to move to my roof, via my ladder, so I rigged a "Gin pole" to haul them up to back roof level!  I have 2 double pulies but not enough rope to reach the ground darn it. So off to hardware  for longer rope.
Have to take some time covering the cricket to ensure water will shed properly.  To weave or not to weave the shingles? That's what I'm stressing over now.  I guess it's the only way to do it.
