leo1234
It's more of what you are comfortable in. But most go with a 12 to 14.
Africaster
16'. Really, it's all about what you want to get out of your yak! Backwaters and close-ish offshore, then early teens is ideal. The great thing about this sport (at the moment), is that equipment holds it's value and if you feel the need to upgrade or move laterally, you're not going to lose out too much financially. Bottom line ..... take the plunge and course correct later. Good luck. Any society that charges it's own children for knowledge, is doomed to fail. Whilst intelligence is not affected by geography, it is influenced by education, opportunity and drive. Now is the time to change our attitude towards blues, next year may well be too late (Somebody listened ) Member of the Yellow Eyed Devils May you never have to fish to live, rather live to fish. The Riddler
WHAT IS THE RECOMMENDED SIZE FOR THE OCEAN? There isn't one answer or one way. I'm comfortable with 13' Revo . At times an extra 3' would come in handy when it gets choppy. The trade off with 3' is maneuverability. For me 13-14' is my happy medium.

leo1234
First thing that should be your priority is safety gear aka life vest, whistle, lights if going night fishing compass or gps. And I'm sure others will chime in.
