I have NEVER caught a fish on a kastmaster. They suck.

Freshwater trout, chrome blade yellow body, red dot Panther Martin.

Bass- by catch for trout and striper fishing, who fishes for bass anyhow?

Stripers- J-9 Broke Back Rapala black n silver (also my Amador slammer for trout)

Sturgeon- Myth

Rockfish- Butterknife jigs w/ shrimp fly teaser

and flies for what ever is biting...........

Eh Bruddahs,

My go to lure this season for rockfish and lings is the beautiful Lucky Craft Pointer 128SP USA Series LE-Chartreuse Shad. It is acturally made in Japan. I have been using it with a live bait jog with a 6oz. weight. I drop it to the bottom and bring it up so that the lure may be swimming about 3-5 ft from the bottom. The lure is a work of art that looks like a real shiny silver fish and is made that it postions in a horizontal swimming mimic.

Caught 2 husky vermillions and 4 blacks in about 2.5 hours off HMB last weekend. Did a post earlier this week and here's the pic again.

Cotton Cordell cranks are great all around lures at least for fresh water and are cheap. Color depending on conditions and species.

Lmb
Smb
Spots
Trout
Steelhead
Bgs
Red ear
Crappie
Striper
Landlocked kings
Squaws
Etc.

It's my favorite lure but is only one of a handful I won't leave home with out, for spoons little Cleo's, crocodiles and kastmasters. Also bigger cranks, bombers and yo zuri, willow and regular style spinner baits, and some swim baits in white, anchovy, trout and Halloween.

Silver/blue Kastmaster. Period. Moving water or still. Have caught Salmon and everything on down to Bluegill. If you want a lure that will give you the best chance of just catching SOMETHING, it's the ONE. Imho.

Kastmaster is right up there, but the Panther Martin, yellow body, most times out fishes it for me. I never go fishing without a Super Duper either. An oldie but still a goodie.
