We also found this little guy hiding in a clam shell. Anyone know what it is?

Looks a little like a "Gulf dog fish" or Sea Robin...yuck!

Nice catch.
I'd guess violet gobie on the unidentified fish.

Goby of some sort.

Definetely not a "dogfish" (oyster toad) or sea robin. Nor is is a lizardfish, stargazer, or any of the other 95% of fish ID answers.

Good on you for finding an unusual one.
