The 2014 Avon Challenge is on again this year. Great event run by CWA. Bring the kids to watch - rides, food stalls for the Avon Decent finish.

Sorry it's Healthways not Heathways.
Apologies to CWA's sponsor Healthways - a fantastic supporter of many local events in WA
BTW the registration and briefing time above is correct despite what it says on the CanoeWA site on the link. Just had it confirmed by Zac at CanoeWA.
It was a great day.
Leo Beyers went out fast and led from start to finish followed by Craig McLaren, Jason Burton and David Slater.
Cristiana Chessa was first (and only) female setting a great pace and beating a lot of the guys home.
I know she would have loved some company, come on girls this is a flatwater paddle on a very scenic part of the river it would be great to see a few more women enter.
Things I learn't, there seemed to be some big improvements in the average speed of a lot of paddlers, training pays off and I have obviously been holidaying to much.
