Welcome from a fellow South Walian, It depends on what you want.

The best small local saw mills who might do you small amounts of timber are Cilfiegan sawmill (Usk) Frazer and Small (Brecon) both of which I have used and Whitney sawmills in Whitney on Wye who I haven't

Native hardwoods are easy enough - but good clear softwoods - now they're a real challenge.

                  Anybody?

Ha ha, I have a 14' by 4" by 1" Sitka spruce board, flawless, with grain so fine, you can't see it without a scope. :D
