My Gal went salmon fishing with me on a charter and used my conventional medium ugly stick with a Penn jigmaster 500....the reels I have are right handed

I would like to buy her a left hand conventional linecounter reel that could hold a decent amount of 25-30lb max maxima mono.
The guys on our side of the boat had  okuma and diawa linecounter reels but when I di a search just now so many different reels came up-

this one seems to be a lefty and level wind with counter  ma20dlx down at the bottom of the link might work

price: I would like a really good real for her but price is of some concern so I wont be buying 200-500 reel on this one

any help would be great

I had decent luck with the Okuma Convector linecounter. It lasted 3 seasons before I stopped using it. Now it just sits in a box in my garage. I'd offer to sell you mine for $50, but you can get a new one for a few more bucks on sale.
Edit: crap, you said left-handed...mine is right handed.

I have a Daiwa.  My only complaint is the line counter window fog's up & gets wet to there I can't read it.  It's ok.  Used it once & now it just sits.  Guess I need to dust it off & give it another shot.

Why specifically a linecounter reel?

I am not the sharpest hook in the box, but, that said,I am wondering if linecounter reels are even accurate...

as far as why a line counter reel?

I had to hand pull 180-220 one foot pulls when on a charter boat and in the kayak that would even be more work and less time staying in a spot/drifitng while hand pulling to a certain depth

Now I am wondering if the line counters count actual line as it is fed across a wheel counter or if they count revs of the reels spool which might change a bit here and there as the line gets fed out...smaller or bigger spool dia. times rotations...an inch or two here -over 240 fow is  like 40 feet off the target depth

which is also the case if the boat captain say "I got fish at 220,lower em down -and you pull less or more a a bit of each pull- you could be sitting in empty water with a nice school of feeding fish 50 feet away and you miss the chance

also I need a left hand conventional reel for my gal as she can not really reel in the right handed Penn jigmaster 500's  I have without putting the handle/bearings in a bit of a bind it seems, and when she caught a big fighting Salmon needed help, the reel kept binding...two birds with one stone...get her a decent left handed conventional and a line counter so she can skip pulling line a foot at a time

thanks for the reply's
I will get her the okuma mid level lefty linecounter

Most line counter reels I've seen/had are based in spool revolutions.  I think its more about "average". More depth in shallow & less as you get further into the spool.  As long as you are close the fish will bite.  What's a few feet between friends!

your right and really I caught half my charter boat salmon on the way down or up and one even followed my banana weight right to the surface...meanwhile the captain was saying 120-180 folks...Mine was like at 50 and bam...but for her a lefty with a line counter might be fun....she caught two salmon and was outfishing me at one point  :smt005
