I've had solar panels since 1993,  I'm fully aware of their output. The way I have them connected to terminal block, then down to charge controller, the power leads cannot touch (Short) besides I live in a redwood forest and the panels only get direct sun for maybe 3 hour's total each day. These panels cannot kill anything!  Well maybe the big one, it weighs in at 100+pounds and it 4 X7 feet big.
Unfortunately I cannot put a dumpster near house.  It,s tarps for me.  Got first pile moved to truck, started next one by stripping all the way to top edge of roof. Tomorrow I'll concentrate on the crap in front of the chimeny up to skylights.

  :BangHead:

Made a little progress last night, wife was able to finish packing up pile of crap shingles into smaller piles so I could toss them into truck when I got home. Tonight I 'll start with crap by chimney, and below skylights, and work my way south! (Across to right is south)
Saturday will be dump run day!  Load of crap in back of truck is just about on the overload springs.
Last night I noticed that, as I'm removing the old shingles, the top layers seem to come off whole, the middle layers, well they seem to come off somewhat whole , but the original layer, the oldest?  Naawww....  They are so old, they pretty much disintegrate into pieces as I lift them with the pitchfork!  Super frustrating as I grab a tab and pull expecting a full shingle to come out, but NOOOOO...  :smt013 they rip apart! Oh well, it's why I'm do this.
That and can't have rain drops in living room and live with wife at same time! :smt044
I'm hoping by Sunday, I'll have the area cleared by the chimney, and I can look at repairing the rotted deck in the area (Where the power pole is, white exposed foam insulation)

Of  course rain is coming! $#@&+= figures :smt013
I was able to strip the area in front of our chimeny and up to bottom of skylights.  Not sure how to deal with the gap created between the roof and chimeny once the rotted wood pieces were removed. (Have pictures, just not on this tablet I'll post them later)
Oh yeah, the earthquake braces were put on OVER the damn shingles! Not onto direct wood? WTF?  Now, I have a GD gap below both brackets where they meet the roof deck! :smt013 (Where the shingles ued to be)
The attachment's at the chimney are welded to the brackets in the bricks. So, now I'm thinking a few gallons of black roof tar may be needed to seal this disaster! WTH? Is anything gonna go smoothly for me?

Man, that totally sucks. I hate home repairs, once you find one thing there is another thing right under it that needs to be fixed.   I need to replace my old wood shingles one if these days. Not looking forward to it.

So, here's my next set of nightmares,  The under eaves wood will have to be replaced, cut back to the 4x10.  Not sure how I'll deal with the earthquake bracing anchor yet.  There's going to be a gap left from the 2 missing layers of shingles when I get the new stuff laid down.  I suspect the majority of the rotted deck in front of the chimney came from these supports pictured.  Saga continues.....
