Anglers can ‘strike’ it rich with new bass challenge

Share

Starting this week, bass anglers in the US will get the chance to claim a share of a cash and prize pool valued at more than $60,000.

The month-long, digital tournament – known as the Big Bass Challenge USA – is being launched by Strike King, part of the Rather Outdoors group of brands.

From May 1 to 31, anglers are invited to submit their catches to an online tournament platform where catches can be documented using the catch, photo, submit process.

Participants can compete in four different categories to win cash, prizes from Strike King and Lew’s, a Minn Kota Ultrex Quest trolling motor, a Humminbird Helix 12 fish finder, Hummingbird LakeMaster fishing maps, Dakota lithium batteries and more.

Strike King has been running Big Bass Challenge events since 2021. However, this new competition is an opportunity for all anglers to take part without needing to haul a boat to a specific competition venue.

“Our objective is to create a means for all anglers to compete in a Big Bass Challenge anywhere in the United States,” said Tom Brewbaker, Brand Marketing Director for Strike King.  “Regardless of whether someone is a fishing from a boat, a kayak or the bank, we wanted to create an event that allows all anglers to compete for cash and prizes from any publicly accessible body of water in the country.

“They may catch the fish of a lifetime outside of a tournament, and now they will have an opportunity to score that fish in a competitive format and potentially win thousands of dollars for it!”
