Free Traeger Smoker

The kids bought my wife a smoker for Mothers Day a few years back.  She used it 5 times, but it was just not her thing... and I never made it mine.

Its the Traeger TFB420VB.  I recall it was almost $600 when they got it for her.

I live in Santa Cruz near Pleasure Point.

AlsHobieOutback ... I have been trying to PM you, and failing (I believe).

What time do you want to collect Tuesday?

Ivan

(And Calhafi ... you are next in line if AlsHobieOutback changes his mind)

I love my Traeger! I have the smallest one on wheels that they make. Ive had mine for about 10 years and going strong. The variety of hardwood pellets they offer is really nice for adjusting to whatever you’re smoking. The premium blend they sell at Costco has three types of wood and is a great value. Here’s a few pics of the herring I did this from this years run! So tasty🤙🏼

Precaution for anyone who does not use the Traeger often, especially in the cold, rainy season. Empty the hopper and turn on the unit to burn up all of the pellets still in the tube to the fire port. Cold and higher humidity during the rainy season will congeal the remaining pellets into a solid piece that will take a LONG time to move it all through the tube. During that time, cooking temperature will fluctuate because of the plugged fire pot tube.

That's some great advice Howard, especially for someone that lives in the cold, wet, redwoods along a creek and is forgetful as a lingcod biting the back of a blue!  :smt044

Sully thank you again so much for the smoker!  I've used it three times now, the first was a learning curve but since then I did some research and am really super happy with the results of my last two uses.  Pork shoulders take a long long time to cook though, took over 10 hours, but boy this meat is the most delicious pork I've ever made, and the chicken was incredibly good too.  Thanks again!  :smt006. Pictures of the pork are every 3 hours

have that same model.  watch out for tunneling in the hopper.  the sides arent steep enuff IMO so even if u run it full of pellets there will eventually surface a void over the pellet entry port. and youll wonder hey whys this thing not smoking?? its bc the remaining pellets arent feeding in thru the entry port.  basically manually heap the pellets over the port every 40-60 mins

glad ur enjoyng it all and awesome n generous ncka freecycle. i like mine alot

wow.  what a nice gesture!!

PSA.  the dust that comes off the pellets is dangerous to breath.  my brother wears a dust mask when doing so.
