1000 Yard Ride - Paddle in Speed Run!
« on: November 17, 2019, 04:03:56 PM »
Longest ride I have ever had!  As far as I know the previous recorded record for us was around 800 and something yards by either Beasho and/or Jeff Clark.   This is what I love about cowells, lean forward and hold on and with little to no pumping get really long rides when the swell is firing.  Two days of good swell, Friday was really good, epic conditions and all around super fun time sharing waves with good friends!

I am certain that when we get a really big swell 1200 yards or more is possible...
Aloha, I welcome and appreciate all responses of positivity and good feeling.

Wow. Amazing! I was getting 100+ yards today in the Gulf of Mexico and I was grinning all day.
Addicted to foiling at the moment.

That was amazing. And... pretty much no pumping. You're getting pretty good Clay.
It's not overhead to me!
8'8" L-41 ST and a whole pile of boards I rarely use.

That is an absolutely incredible foiling spot when the swell is big enough - easy to get in early and easy to stay 100yds ahead of any of the surfers.  So even though it is always crowded, it isn't for foilers...  I've had that same ride a handful of times over the couple dozen or so sessions I've had there.  Really sweet to see it on camera, and you rode it perfect.

That’s incredible!  Nice ride, Clay!  The only problem I see is the need to wear the rubber suit! :o

Awesome comments, loving these!

Honestly I just got lucky, a lady on a longboard sitting inside of me said she was going to try for this one, so I was like alright I will too.  The wave just stood up all of a sudden and after my first turn I knew it was going to be a long one so I flew conservative not wanting to risk breaching and blowing this epic wave.

As fun as this wave was I had more fun on the other waves that I rode together with my friends, criss crossing with fellow foilers is super fun.  :)

I suspect I had a longer ride today, but I was cheating--using a wing. Perfect wind today at Kanaha--steady and filled in. I could ride powered up all the way to the beach. I went way outside--past the outer reef, then flew all the way to the far east corner. The longest one had to be close to a mile. I got to the park at 10:30, in the water at 11:00, foiled until 3:30 with a little break to change foils and a slightly longer one when I thought I should quit at 1:30. Nah, back out to play. I feel surprisingly good.

yeah man... we feel your foil share stoked!
except once I made a mistake and tried to bail out the back during a share wave with another boarder but my foil board just keep going and ended up on top of this person's board. I didn't see what happen but this person wasn't happy and called me #$%@ and a kook. I did apologized but the hatred is real  :o
