I'm thinking of going out tomorrow in the AM for a little bit of chrome hunting. Windy.com says 7-8ft swells and a 12sec period. Will I see any problems with those kinds of conditions when exiting/entering the jaws?

I hoping to be there on Sunday. I’m more worried about the pumpkin traffic coming home. :icon_pumpkin: :icon_pumpkin: :icon_pumpkin:

You should be fine going in and out of the jaws. I reckon the swell will be closer to 4-5 feet outside and there is a nice deep channel going through.
The only real danger in that area are the breakers that pop up over the reefs and wash rocks mostly to the NW of the jaws at low tide. Looks like it will be 3+ ft Saturday morning but you should glance in that direction periodically. Also, head in as soon as the wind picks up. It's a headwind all the way in.
good luck! I picked up my first limit of the year there 2 weeks ago and I hope to make it out Sunday AM if conditions permit.

Please post your report!...I'll be out there Sunday too.
Regarding swells, it depends on which site one consults...some say 2.6' and some say 7'...but
the marine report does not look promising for tomorrow:

Marine As of 10:48 am pdt Friday... Light to locally moderate
northwest winds are forecast to prevail over the coastal waters
through the day and into the weekend. The strongest winds will be
concentrated along the big sur coast. The northwest swell will
peak today and then begin to subside this evening with hazardous
seas for smaller vessels continuing into Saturday.
Good luck! :smt006

It was choppy today guys so be careful. The tides were breaking so just be aware.  I'm not worried about moo cause I know what conditions he can fish in but for everybody else please keep an eye out.

Fish were biting right outside the harbor for about and hour in the morning. It's a quick bite so get on it before it's gone. Good luck --TLA

Gosh, I really want to try my luck but my health has had other plans.... I have only been able to take my new boat out once so far :-( Anyway hoping to give it a try before the end of the season.
