Being welcomed into my girlfriend’s family from Kiribati has been a blessing filled with many amazing experiences of family tradition, pacific island culture and a unique adventure in the ocean.
I flew out with Kim Yap from Hawai’i, to Marshal Islands, to Tarawa Atoll apart of Kiribati. This is were we spent the next week exploring the atoll and celebrating Kimberly’s grandmother’s 70th birthday with near 80 of her family members that came from all over the world to be together for this “Botaki”, or celebration!
