I lost my Hobie wheels yesterday and need a new set, preferably today. Anyone know who in Marin or East Bay sells them?
Thanks!

I think the Wheeleez shop/factory is located in Benicia?

Not sure if they sell direct, but might be worth giving them a ring.

I tried them. They said they had them so I drove over to Oakland. Then it turned out they didn't have them. Super annoying and a complete waste of time.
I'll try Wind Toys or REI.

REI offers occasional 20 percent off (1 item) if you're not in a rush yet.

You can find a dealer that sells Malone wheels... I would suggest Clavey in Petaluma, but they are closed today and tomorrow. I would look into getting Malone wheels if it's not too late. They are cheaper at $169 and have a higher weight capacity at 200 lbs. They also make a wide-cart for $229 that can hold 250 lbs compared to wheeleez 176. Search on Malone's website for your closest dealers and give them a call. It looks like there are a bunch in the bay area. They may not all sell the wheels, but it doesn't hurt to call and ask... Good luck!

Sorry to hear that...Wow. I guess they lost your business. I hope you are able to get on the water soon. I know how it is to want/need something, been told to come on through, to only be disappointed. You deserve an extra fishing day for that experience or something!

I've been making my own wheels for my Hobie for some time. First attempts were OK but not too good. There are good and work fine over rock and sand, but probably not as good as "beach wheels" over soft sand. I used 1 inch copper pipe for the framework. 1 inch fits nicely into Hobie cart holes. PVC is there only as a spacer for wheel distance. 5/8 inch  threaded rod is the axle. 3/4 aluminum pipe slides over the 5/8 threaded axle and fits decently into the 12, or maybe it is 13 inch Harbor Freight wheels which sell for around 13 bucks apiece. Two nuts hold the wheel to the shaft. Get the desired clearance and lock jam the nuts. There will be some play but quite tolerable. Two pieces of PVC, I think, 1 inch. Fit against the bottom of the Hobie cart holes and also space distance between wheels. No measurements cause the set up is easy to customize to one's needs. I went tall to travel over small boulders and big ruts but one could go shorter. HF wheels will last a couple seasons in salt unless well rinsed and re greased often but 13 or 14 bucks a pop is not bad to replace. The framework will last a long long time. Total cost should be around 50 dollars unless. like me, you've got stuff laying around to construct with.

If you have the little wheels this is an easy and cheap mod to make them big.  Pick up these big tires at harbor freight cheap.  Use stainless for everything and grease  the hell out of them.  By the way this whole setup is for sale.

Since this thread has been semi-hijacked to a DIY beachwheels thread anyway.. I made my wheels from 14" stroller wheels (about the width of a mountain bike tire). Great for flat surfaces, go over stairs good.  untested in sand, and not good for storage. Those HF wheels are heavy.. so I was trying to think how to find wide, lightweight wheels...?  And thought. what about Power wheels?  They are light plastic, big footprint for sand.. not soft for rocks, but.. probabliy strong enough....?

Apologies for it getting a lil hijacked but I just want to say thanks for the power wheels idea. I’ve only used diy myself and went from pvc to copper and it’s awesome but never thought of the power wheels.
