Next door to Southern Kitchen (which itself is a sawwwwlid bfast joint) sits Billys Boston Chowder House, newly opened in Los Gatos. 

Ate Billys first time this month.  Started with a sampler of lobster bisque, manhattan, and boston chowder.  bisque and manhattan were each way good, but the boston ironically was meh!  had some other items weren't too bad. $100 for two entrees, sampler, 1 glass wine, kids dish and lemonade.

place is quite small, reservations req'd on weekend for sure.  Several bar seats in case you wanted to drop in and watch the game while you ett.

I'm looking fwd to going back, trying some other things they had on menu. 

Check it out 'Ton, i think you n the boys may like it.

Reminds of Scoma's in SF but a lot closer to home.  Thanks for the tip gonna try it soon.

Antonio, have you eaten Bazille on 2nd Floor of Nordstrom in Valley Faire?  Try it. 
Its one of my son's favs, we've eaten here maybe 20x.  Consistently good food. 
Try the crab bisque, shrimp salad, and/or the french dip. 

Ask for Tomas if he's around.  He's the brother of the chef and a solid service pro.  But all the servers are gr8

It's got ghost pepper cheese but its not hot at all.
It's actually milder than pepper jack cheese.
Or you can do like my son and substitute it with american cheese.

Unfortunately, this place changed ownership a few months ago and the hanger is no more.
Haven't been back since.

Also correction the Hanger is still there but the burgers changed a bit.
Will report back when I return.

Finally tried BCBC during a work from home lunch.  Maybe I had 2 hi expectations, like i wantd 2 come out thinking it was the best kep secrt in campbell.  But it disappointed me.  For the portion size, it was $2 too much for burger.  Also, seemed like they tried 2 go to shi shi and make everything 2 special.  Coup d'grace was no wifi!  How u gonna do a working lunch w no wifi? 

How much is 2 dollars too much?

SOFA has so much good stuff now.

There is a Chinese deli inside the Lion Food Center in Newark that I used to love going to. The food reminded me of the way my mother used to cook. I say "used to" because, like many businesses, the owner sold the place to new proprieters and it has not been the same ever since. Actually worse each time I visited again. The place changed ownership at least three times. After the first changeover, Sonny (Sailfish) and I went there for lunch. At lease five times, we were told a desired item on the menu was not available. So...I am looking for another favorite place.

The 'bakery' ? outside the Lion Market in San Jose on Saratoga is a great little takeout Dim Sum spot, after noon everything is cheap too.



One of my Favorite Ramen places in the South bay is Ramen Taka on the Alameda in San Jose, and my favorite Pho place is Pho Van in Santa Clara/Sunnyvale, great stuff.
