Australia’s Jessica Fox heads the leaderboard in both the women’s K1 and C1 after the release of the first updated canoe slalom rankings list for 2019.

Czech 2017 world champion Vit Prindis leads the men’s K1, while Germany’s Sideris Tasiadis leads the men’s C1, despite never winning a world title. Tasiadis is one of the most consistent paddlers in a very competitive field.

24-year-old Fox enjoyed the best season of her career last year, remaining undefeated in the women’s C1, and taking the K1 world championship in Rio.

The Australian is ranked ahead of German’s Ricarda Funk in the K1, and ahead of 2017 world champion, Mallory Franklin of Great Britain in the C1.

Prindis sits atop the men’s K1 leaderboard, despite not winning a world cup medal in 2018. The Czech dominated in 2017. Slovenia’s Peter Kauzer sits second, with 2018 world championship silver medalist Jiri Prskavec third.

Tasiadis position at the top of the C1 leaderboard comes off the back of three world cup wins in 2018. Slovakia’s Alexander Slafkovsky, who won four world cup silver medals last year, sits in second place.
