Any of you have experience with anchoring a Revo 13.  Yes my intention is to fish for sturgeon and Yes Eddies catches are super inspiring.   Duh sturgeon slayer. :smt001 :smt006

I've installed the Yak attach anchor trolley on 2 of my former kayaks but was looking for a simpler solution for my sturgeon dreams.

You need an anchor trolley for any anchor system, because you need to have a way to make your anchor line run from the bow or the stern of your kayak, so the kayak will be lined up with the wind and/or current.  Attaching an anchor line to the side of your kayak is a bad idea, because the current and waves would be hitting the side of your kayak.  When fishing for sturgeon I prefer to run my line from the stern of my kayak, so I am facing downstream when casting, but when jigging I prefer to run my line from the bow of my kayak so I'm facing into the wind and waves.

There is a long thread on breakaway anchor systems for sturgeon fishing at http://www.northwestkayakanglers.com/index.php?topic=15510.0.  The first and second pictures below show that system.  When I don't need the breakaway features of the system, I can remove the buoy and the quick release line and use the system as a fixed anchor system.

I have been real happy with everything about that system except that its a bit inconvenient to wind anchor line onto the tie wire reel I used in the system.  I'm about to replace the tie wire reel with the diving line reel shown in the third picture below, which I hope will be easier to use when winding in anchor line.  I won't be able to try out the new reel until the ice melts off lakes in my area, but after I've had a chance to try out the revised system, I'll report on it.

Instead of permantly attatching the clamcleat I ziptie it to the side handle and instead of installing a padeye, I use pre-existing rear most pad eye that is for bungie cord.

Here is my sturgeon fishing tutorial. There is a no drill anchor trolly system YouTube video that I really like inside the tutorial. It's the one that I use and it has served me well over the years.--tla
