Firefighters rescued a 33-year-old man who was left adrift in Lake Waco after his kayak capsized late Friday morning.

The man, who was wearing a life jacket, was south of the Highway 6 twin bridges when firefighters reached him.

Limited visibility hampered initial efforts to find the kayaker, and once his location was established, the rescue effort took about 15 minutes.

He was taken by ambulance to Baylor Scott & White Hillcrest Medical Center.

Further details weren’t immediately available.
