To mark the golden jubilee celebration of Central Industrial Security Force (CISF), a cycle race was strated on Wednesday. Five hundred cyclists started their race at one go after the Director General, CISF, inaugurated the race at CISF ground near Madhya Marg. The team members would pedal across the Himalayan regions of the State.
Speaking on the occasion, DG, CISF, Rajesh Ranjan said, “On this occasion, a 10-day trekking/cycling, kayaking, rafting expedition would be held in Uttarakhand from October 24 to November 1 on the theme of solid waste disposal for sustainable development.
It would be a small contribution towards environment protection and creating awareness among the people of the State. The CISF team comprising around 60 members, including officers, will be cycling, trekking, kayaking and rafting apart from displaying various demos and undertaking awareness programme on theme ‘Hum fit to India Fit’ and solid waste disposal for sustainable development,” he said.
Among those present on the occasion were the District Magistrate Haridwar Deepak Rawat and SSP Ridhim Agarwal.
