Erik Boomer and Ben Stookesberry have done some incredible exploratory kayaking. They’ve used kites to propel themselves across the Arctic with their boats so they could run Class V first descents. They’ve laid paddle to water in some of the most remote places on Earth. But this probably isn’t one of their favorite memories.

The pair was on Little Goose Creek in Wyoming’s Big Horns. Not the cleanest of creeks. And Stookesberry finds that out the hard way with this ugly looking pin. But that’s why we play outside with friends. Good friends, who know what they’re doing. Boomer calmly works with Stooksberry to help get him out of a pretty serious situation. The hashtag on Boomer’s subsequent Instagram post pretty much says it all: #kayakingisateamsport
